He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Carter and Emma Carter; his wife Nelda of Tom's Frosty Land; and his siblings, Junior, Katherine and Evelyn.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard Carter (Angie) of Hartburg and Gary Knight (Barbara) of Canyon Lake, Texas; his grandchildren, Misty Ray (Gary) of Enterprise, Natalie Teeples (Charles) of Hartburg, Rachel Leger (Charles Pate Leger) of Hartburg, Texas and Bradley Carter (Joanna) of Orange, Texas; and his great grandchildren, Marlee, Mason Hernandez, Cecily, Chase Ray, Seth Carter, Autumn, Bryson Bourgeois, Carter, Charlee Leger, Thomas Carter, Juliana Avila, Landon Carter and Elliot McMahon Bourgeois.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Tommy's Memory to Hartburg Baptist Church.
