She was predeceased by: her parents, Grace Gibbons (Killian) and Theodore Gibbons; her husband Samuel Brister; her son Justin Brister; and her brother Donald Gibbens.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry (Stacey) and Donald (Carol); and her sister Mary Brister (Edgar). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Sophia may be made to First Baptist Church of Deweyville.
