He is survived by: his wife Elder Minnie Shankle-Gilbert; his daughter Ebonie Gilbert; his grandson Da'Quarius Gipson; and his siblings, Melvin, Paul Gilbert and Linda Faye Pierce (Ken). He is also survived by relatives, nieces, nephews, classmates, and friends.
