He was predeceased by: his parents, Delore Guidry and Clorine Guidry; his son Eric Scott Guidry; his siblings, Harry Guidry, Delore and Priscilla Babb; and his nephews, James Guidry and Cecil Burch.

He is survived by: his sons, Lawrence "L. J." Guidry and Robert Guidry (Jodi); his grandchildren, Trent Guidry, Jenna Rittenhouse and Amanda Rittenhouse; and his siblings, Wanda Cross, Diana Malone, Marion Mahon and Kenneth Guidry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
