He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Childress and Alita Childress; his brothers, Phillip Childress and Wayne Childress; and his grandparents, Bridget Estelle Landry and Jake Landry.

He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Childress; his children, Sarah Cooper (Lee) and Kenneth Childress, Jr.; his grandson Henry Cooper; and his siblings, Bridget Van Etten (David), Jake Childress (Maria), Timothy Childress, Theresa Yourkovich and Gary Childress. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
