He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ellis Murdock, Sr. and Willie Murdock, (Dunham); and his sister Barbara Eidson. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Murdock; his children, John Murdock III (Sherry), Todd Murdock (Amy) and Pamela DeVore (David); his siblings, Mike Murdock, Flo Warriner, Deborah Johnson, Kaydonna Murdock and David Murdock; his son David DeVore; his son-in-law Ryan Murdock; his grandsons, Geoffrey Rogers and Nicholas Harvey; and his great grandchild Trevor Lingenfelter. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, along with numerous other family members.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Claybar Funeral Home (504 5th St, Orange, TX 77630, USA). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
