He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Henry Wagnon and Vera Wagnon (Menefee); his son Joel H. Wagnon, Jr.; his brother-in-law Preston Nichols; and his parents-in-law, Estill and Lillian Castleberry.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Wagnon; his children, Ronny Wagnon (Eliska) of Sulphur, Louisiana and Cheryl Garza (Ray) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Jared Wagnon (Amanda), Conley Williams (James), Kaitlyn Miles (Matt), Cole Wagnon (Brianna), Seth Garza (Mallory), Anthony Garza and Adam Garza (Ashleigh); and his siblings, Donna Nichols and Larry Wagnon. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church Missions Office in Orange or Shriner's Hospital for Children in Galveston, Texas.
