She was predeceased by: her parents, Jennie Lucille McAdams Jernigan and J. W. Jernigan; her husband Richard A. Simmons; her grandchild Raeleen Simmons; and her siblings, Steve Jernigan and Kathy Oxley.
She is survived by: her children, Scott Simmons (Colleen) of Orange, Michelle Delaney (Shane) of Orange and Richard "Ricky" Simmons of West Virginia; her grandchildren, Zachary Thibodeaux (Brianna), Jaycie Wilson and Waylon Simmons; and her great grandchild Saylor Thibodeaux. She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
