He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Paul and Ruby Davis Paul; his wife Burneat "Neat" Paul; and his children, Burneat Cooper, John Taylor Paul, Ralph Hogan (Catherine Hogan) and James Hebert Paul (JoAnn Evans Paul).
He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Mitchell (Tommy) of Tarboro, Beth Wheeler (Kenneth) of Orange and Judy Taylor Paul of Smithville, Texas; his grandchildren, Drew Hays, John Cooper, Mike Mitchell, Vicky Mitchell, Taylor Watson, Wesley Watson, Charles Wheeler, Jared Wheeler, Lewis Hogan, Dustin Hogan, Jonathan Paul, Jeffrey Paul and Jennifer Horn; and his brother Charles Paul of Virginia. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
