He was predeceased by: his wife Melba Spivey (Brown); his son Jeffrey Spivey; and his parents, Floyd Spivey and Carrie Spivey (McGee). He is survived by: his daughter Sheri Spivey of Houston, Texas; and his granddaughter Sara Wilson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church Building Fund in honor of Roland's memory.
