He was predeceased by: his parents, John Douglas Horton, Sr. and Barbara Jean Dunn Mercer. He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his children, Shannon Marnae Horton (Jeremy) and Spenser Douglas Horton; his siblings, Sandra Leah Binkley, Penny Marie Gentry (Clinton), Roberta Lynn Ferguson (Glenn), Victoria Ann Horton, Samuel David Horton, Jimmy Wayne Horton (Misty) and Christopher Earl Mercer (Sherry); and his stepparents, Robert "Bobby" Mercer and Alma Ann Horton. He is also survived by grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
