She was predeceased by: her parents, Bishop Sham Mason and Virginia Cleora Hood; her husband Winfred Lee Carter; her son Breanard Carter; her siblings, Elizabeth Bell Bryson, John Mason Sr. (Buddy) and Bishop Mason Jr.; and her grandsons, Paul Watson Jr. and Corey Peel.

She is survived by: her children, Bishop Paul Watson (Stella), Charles Mason, Kenneth Carter (Kellye), Queen Wilson (Curtis), Cherron Smith (Tony), Carolyn Traylor (OJ) and LaSondia DeBase (Dan Michael); her sisters, Mary Britt and Mattie Edney; her sisters-in-law, Jean Mason, Vivian Betts, Ouida Hatten and Lillian Grimes; and her nephew Clarence Frazier. She is also survived by 27 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grand Children and 6 Great-Great Grand Children, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Due to Covid-19 the family request those attending the wake please wear a mask.
