He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewell Clay and Violet Adams Clay; and his sister Joan Clay. He is survived by: his wife Andra Clay of Omaha, Texas; his children, Doug Clay, Jr. (Misty) of Naples, Texas, Annette Moore of Conway, Amanda Batchelor (Jason) of Naples and Jamie Clay of Naples, Texas; his sister Bonnie Rouse of Knoxville, Tennessee; his uncle Kenneth Adams of Hot Springs, Arkansas; his aunt Augustine Clay of Benton, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Josh Hill, Haley Batchelor, Olivia Moore, Cole Batchelor, Kaylee Clay, Violet Clay, Brody Clay, Makenna Batchelor and Andy Clay; and his great great grandchild Hendrix Hill. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
