He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvador Sr. Gomez and Erminia Gomez (Alfaro); his grandson Rico Manuel Gomez; and his siblings, Jesus Gomez and Maria Gloria Rodriguez.

He is survived by: his wife Elida Gomez of Olton; his sons, Juan Gomez, Jr. of Olton and Julian Gomez (Brenda) of Wichita; and his siblings, Salvador Gomez, Jr. of Elkhart, Guadalupe Tapia (Gregorio Sr) of Asherton and San Juanita Vasquez of Goodland, Kansas.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
