He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Edward Shawver and Virginia LaRue Shawver (Lane); his brother Meredith Shawver; his brother-in-law Ronnie Goolsby; his mother-in-law Lucille Goolsby; and his son Jerry Lee Shadden.
He is survived by: his close friend Mildred "Sissy" Shadden of Angleton, Texas; his son Tommie; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Shawver of Graham, Texas; his daughters, Tammie Morgan (Jim) of Barberton and Tawnya Shawver of Lubbock, Texas; his siblings, Pete Shawver of Megargel, Texas and Stormy Shawver Echols (Joe) of Olney, Texas; his sister-in-law Wilma Goolsby; his grandchildren, Haven Shawver, Kylie Morgan, Crystal Durand, Caleb Morgan, Joshua Durand and Sarah Jean Hoelewyn; and his nieces and nephews, Ron Roy Goolsby (Laura), Bryan Goolsby, Robbie Dean Goolsby (Jennifer), Richard Goolsby, Missy Goolsby, Amy Goolsby and Chris Goolsby. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
