She was predeceased by: her parents, James Floyd and V. Marie Yarbrough (Martin); her husband Jack Fortenberry; and her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Ferguson and Lisa Cozby.

She is survived by: her brothers, Joe Yarbrough of Graham, James David Yarbrough and Alvin Cecil Yarbrough. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
