He is survived by: his children, Samuel Earl Downing (Marsha) of Decatur, AL, Neci Stewart of Newcastle, TX, Lou Ann West of Graham, TX, Tammy Downing Clark (Jeff) of McCalla, AL and Lynnette Downing Wiles (Jason) of Cullman, AL; and his sisters, Glenda Smith of Olney, TX and Patricia Hobbs of Olney, TX. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way; and a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces.
