He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde Childress and Willie Mae Childress; his children, Clay Childress and Kathy Childress Grant; his brothers, Elton and Mike Childress; his granddaughter Kasha Grant; his wife Melba Childress; his grandchildren, Britt Childress, Amber Childress Runyon, Portia Grant, Chambry Grant and Patrick Grant; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Abigail, Ivey Childress, Tucker, Cooper Murdock and Greyson Hennsley.
