He was predeceased by: his wife Refugia Velasquez (Ruth); his parents, Carlos Velasquez and Blasa Velasquez; his sisters, Modesta Rodriguez and Sara Duenes; and his grandson Zachary Leon.
He is survived by: his son John David; his daughter-in-law Amy Velasquez of Tahoka, TX.; his daughter Michaell Rosas; his sons-in-law, Epi Rosas (Debra Ramirez) of O'Donnell, TX. and Jesus Ramirez (Amanda Velasquez) of Stanton, TX.; and his sister Isbel Ramirez of Shallowater, TX.. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
