He was predeceased by: his parents, Eusebio Ponz Vega and Cruz Prieto. He is survived by: his sons, Robert "Jacob" (Melissa) and Ruben John; his grandchildren, A. J., Jr., Rubi, Jaimon, Jaidon, Bri, Raven and Aya; and his wife Maria. He is also survived by grandchildren; and two brothers.
