We bid farewell to Melba Tarver (Odessa, Texas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 28, 2024 at the age of 91. Melba touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Talmage Lay and Bennie Lay; her husband Charlie Tarver; her siblings, T. B. Lay, Jr., William Lay, Billie Jane Hampton and Martha Young; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Tarver.
She is survived by: her children, Montie Pat Tarver Garner (Richard Harrell Garner) and Dr. Dave Tarver; her grandchildren, Stacie Pruitt (family: Jeb, Jaycee, Blake) and Clint Garner (family: Dawn, Rylee, Ashton, Chase, Jacob, Crew); her sisters, Wanda McKnight, Donna Humble and Jimmie Sanders; her friend Morene Stribling; and also, Tracey and Barry Borchardt. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, plus a host of incredibly good friends.
Memorials may be given, and appreciated, to Odessa College and Meals on Wheels Odessa.
