He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin A. Minjarez Jr. "Chito" (Chito) and Enedina Munoz Olivas; his brothers, Jose Martinez, Robert Minjarez and Gilbert Minjarez; and his grandson Martin V Guzman.

He is survived by: his wife Ester Garcia; his children, Priscilla Minjarez, Melissa Minjarez, Angel Nabarrette Jr., Kathy Minjarez, Monica Nabarrete, Marisol Minjarez Jaramillo, Martin Martinez Minjarez Jr., Gilbert Perez Jr., Damaris Castillo Gonzales and Jasmine Marie Benitez; his grandchildren, Nathaniel, Noah Guzman, Candi Urquidi, Gilbert Espinoza III, Jennika Guerrero, Naheed Jamal, Angel III, Alan, Adam, Aaron, Arik Nabarrette, Gyziah Martin Perez, Corey Abila Jr. Julian, Jeremiah Minjarez, Santiago Adair Minjarez, Enedina Yasmine Minjarez, Damian, Elgin, Mark Ethan, Ebani, Elijah, Tristyn Minjarez, Jazzlyn Faith Espinosa, Jesse IV and Devina Castillo Gonzales; his siblings, Olga Olivas Solis, Ismelda Olivas Gamboa and Omar Olivas; and his stepfather Omar Olivas Sr.. He is also survived by 17 Great Grandchildren.
