We bid farewell to Kenneth Ray Murphey of Odessa, Texas, born in Nocona, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 28, 2024 at the age of 81. Kenneth Ray touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley E. Murphy and Lizzie Faye Murphy; and his brothers, H. L. Murphey, Lee Roy Murphy and Tommie Murphey.
He is survived by: his wife Elva Jo Hewitt of Odessa, TX; his daughters, Julie Denham (David) of Princeton, TX and Karen Sloan (Jay) of Royse City, TX.; his grandchildren, Zane Webster of Abilene, TX, Reagan Marchand (Cameron) of Palm Bay, FL, Connor Denham of Princeton, TX, Rylie Denham of Lubbock, TX, Hannah Sloan of Royse City, TX and Bethany Sloan of Royse City, TX.; his great grandchildren, Zailey Webster, Carsyn Marchand and Kambree Webster; and his brother Robert Murphy (Betty). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Central Baptist Church (1401 N Texas Ave, Odessa, TX 79761). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
