He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernestina White Cordova and Humberto Valdez Lara, Sr.; his grandparents, Josefina White, Salvador Cordova, Sr., Ursula Valdez and Jesus Lara; and his brother-in-law Jeremy R. Sturgeon.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael H. Lara of Odessa, Texas., Samuel H. Lara of Odessa, Texas. and Humberto "Chacho" H. Lara, III of Odessa, Texas.; his sisters, Margie C. Lara of College Station, Texas, Blanca Diaz (Joe Diaz) of Round Rock, Texas and Liza Michelle Sturgeon of Corpus Christi, Texas.; his grandchildren, Rene Lara of Odessa, Texas, Samson Lara of Odessa, Texas, Elijah Lara of Odessa, Texas, Samantha Lara of Odessa, Texas, Ariel Lara of Odessa, Texas and Alli Lara of Odessa, Texas; his nephews, Roman G. Venegas of College Station, Jonathan R. Sturgeon (Kallie) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joseph R. Sturgeon (Arely) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joshua R. Sturgeon of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jackson R. Sturgeon of Corpus Christi, Texas and Royce Sturgeon of Corpus Christi, Texas; and his great-nieces, Harlie Sturgeon and Isla Sturgeon of Corpus Christi, Texas..
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory (1040 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX 79761). A rosary was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
