He was predeceased by: his wife Becky Poyner; and his parents, Walter "Les" Poyner and Jody Poyner. He is survived by: his son Jason Poyner; his adoptive son Trent Mitchell; and his siblings, Roy Poyner, Jimmy Poyner, Tommy Poyner, Walter Poyner Jr. and Icy Kannel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Darvin's heart.
