He was predeceased by: his parents, Romelia Gomez Mata and Andres Gonzalez Mata; his brother Andres Mata Jr.; and his niece Elaina Cruz Perales. He is survived by: his siblings, Carmen Mata Ramirez, Pablo Mata (Rosario) and Alvaro Mata (Yvonne).
