He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Alaniz, (Flores) of Jesus and Roberto Alaniz, Jr.; his grandparents, Roberto, Guadalupe Alaniz and Rebecca Flores; his sister Sara Alicia Alaniz; his nephew Alfredo Alaniz, Jr.; his niece Kayla Alaniz; and his father-in-law Esteban Garza.
He is survived by: his wife Irma Alaniz of San Antonio, Texas; his children, Mateo Alaniz (Monica) of Laredo, Texas, Roberto Alaniz, IV of Rosharon, Texas, Agustin Gerardo Alaniz (Carolina) of Laredo, Texas, Veronica Dohrman (Jason) of Galveston, Texas, Esmeralda Kubecka (Michael) of San Antonio, Texas, Angelina Alaniz and Azanette Alaniz of Houston, Texas; his stepson Marcus Anthony Medina (Valerie) of Natalia, Texas; his siblings, Reymundo Alaniz, Rolando Alaniz (Laura), Alfredo Alaniz of Laredo, Texas, Myrna, Santos, Norma Lydia Perez (Antonio) of Laredo, Texas and Thelma Byfield (Steven) of Houston, Texas; his mother-in-law Oralia Garza of Odem, Texas; and his siblings-in-law, Juan Oscar Cantu (Terry) of George West, Texas, Nelda Garza of Corpus Christi and Ernestina Martinez of Odem, Texas.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
