He is survived by: his wife Betty Derby Vandiver; his children, William D, Jr. (Elke), James (Becky) of Louisa and Wendy Hancock (Ben) of Georgetown; his stepson Jarrett Riggs (Lori) of Richland Hills; his siblings, Dan (Marcia) of Fayetteville and Donna Merkle (Tony) of Walton; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Vandiver of Covington and Dorothy Caples (Bearl) of Lindsey.
