He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelia Wijtenburg and Jan Kruit Sr.; and his brother Jan Kruit. He is survived by: his brother Cornelis Kruit; his son Maurice Kruit; his close friend Janine Kruit; his children, Erin Smith and Jason Pollard; and his grandchildren, Cameron Nieblas and Caleb Humphrey.
