Mattie Childress Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 16, 2024, at the age of 83, Mattie Childress of Normangee, Texas, born in Streetman, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Willie Mae; her stepfather Van Dean; her father Lemuel A. Steele; her siblings, Georgia Harcrow and Dean Steele; and her son-in-law Wayne Adcox.
She is survived by: her husband Roger; her children, Ricky Childress (Marianna), Debbie Peacock (Roy), Susie Miceli and Kim Nelson (Keith); her grandchildren, Robert Bailey, Johnathan Miceli (Courtney), Brandi Hebert (Joseph), Kristin Bailey (Will), Cameron Childress, Lauren Childress and Kyle Nelson; and her great grandchild Amara Hebert. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
