He was predeceased by: his parents, Truman Cole and Pauline Cole; his sister Gwendolyn (Arthur Grimes); his brother-in-law Herman Batson; and his great grandchild Maliki Byrd.
He is survived by: his sister Joyce Batson of Normangee, TX.; his daughters, Paula (Robert Truitt Jr) of Grand Prairie, TX and Alyssa (Ted Bolton) of Arlington, TX.; and his grandchildren, Charity (Cornell Byrd), Charles Carlisle (Alex), Kimberly Bolton, Wesley Bolton, Heather (Joseph Cason) and Brice Truitt. He is also survived by 10 Great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and Cousins.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to BrightFocus Foundation or the American Heart Association.
