He was predeceased by: his parents, Christopher Nelson and Mary Corkill Nelson; and his siblings, Virgina Fisher and Edward Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Beth Nelson; his son Jimmy "J. D."; his sister Mary Ann Motes; his grandchildren, Andrew Nelson (Shannon), Cody Nelson (Brooke), Amanda Van Schuyver, Grant Allman, Grehsen Allman, Brittan Allman, Brycen Allman, Brielle Allman, Rayce Allman, Ryan Nelson and Reese Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Avery Van Schuyver, Ava Van Schuyver, Brooklyn Van Schuyver and Riley Nelson.
