He was predeceased by: his parents, Iris Marie Cain and George "Conway" Abney; and his sister Pamela Sue Keay. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Martel Abney; his son Brent Abney (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Bryton Abney and Berklee Abney; his brothers, Kerry Abney (Pat) and Brian Abney (Sharon); and his nieces, Brandy Crawford, Jennifer Bell and Jamie Abney.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to create a Ken Abney Memorial Scholarship fund.
