He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schaefer and Linda Schaefer (Werner); his wife Cecilia; his siblings, Robert, Ernst, Eugene, Freddy and Velma; and his brothers-in-law, Ervin Real, John Carroll and George Zaiontz.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Schaefer (Sharon), Kenneth Schaefer (Cheryl), Deborah Davis (Mark) and Diane Bordovsky (Bruce); his brother Jack Schaefer (Theresa); and his sisters-in-law, Mary, Bernice, Rosalie Schaefer, Helen Wilborn, Helen Zaiontz, Irene Carroll and Ann Gieniec (Jacob). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
