It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Winston Rawls Sr. of Nixon, Texas, who passed away on July 19, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father John Weldon Rawls; his wife Marie; his daughter Jacqueline Rawls; his brothers, Wayne and Charles Rawls; and his grandchildren, Jaqueline Oliphant and Eddie Oliphant.
He is survived by: his children, Marilyn Sparks (Ronnie) of Adkins, TX, Clara R. Lester of Gonzales and John Winston Rawls, Jr. (Esther) of Nixon; his granddaughter Heather Spengler; his grandson-in-law Lance; his grandchildren, Vanna Lester, Ross Lester, Ashley Rawls, Katheren Rawls and John Rawls; his great grandchildren, John Anthony Rawls, Mitch Spengler and Cole Spengler; his sister Regina M. Hardin (Douglas) of Conroe; and his sisters-in-law, Geraldine Rawls of Gonzales and Carol Smith of Amarillo.
