He was predeceased by: his parents, Dessie Juanita Coody (Brooks) and Howard Coody; his son Curtis Coody; and his brothers, Dwayne Coody, Earl Coody and Johnny Coody.
He is survived by: his children, Sharlott Gordon (Nathan) and Susan Arnold (Chris Castro); his grandchildren, Jeremy Gordon (Whitney), Hannah Gordon, Sean Arnold, Dominic Arnold, Chris Castro and P. J. Castro; his great grandchildren, Gavin Garcia, Jase Gordon and Emma Gordon; and his sisters, Donna McIntosh (Sonny), Mary Garrity and Lillie Fern Gilland.
