It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Clara Laverne Hitt of Newton, Texas, born in Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on December 5, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix Lyssy and Maxine Adams Lyssy; her siblings, Jerri Sowers and Milton Lyssy; her sons, David Hitt and James Hitt; and her husband Paul Edward Hitt.
She is survived by: her children, Julia Myers (Archie) of Bridge City and Paul Hitt, Jr. (Tinker) of Newton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 Crisis, the family will be having a Private Mausoleum Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
