As Wanda departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Wanda may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Wanda leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her mother Dorthy Derden; and her sister Hazel Young. She is survived by: her husband Rudy Cano; her daughter Cori Love (Matt); her grandchildren, Hayden Cano, Harley Cano and Brett Walls; and her siblings, Spruce Derden, Jr. (LaVeda) and David Derden (Kandy).
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lux Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1254 I-35BL, New Braunfels, TX 78130). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
