He was predeceased by: his brother Jon Cortez. He is survived by: his parents, Ruben Cortez, Sr. and Clemencia Villanueva (Enrique Flores); his daughters, Felicia Cortez (Tommy Longoria) and Chloe Cortez; the mother of his child Christine Miller; his grandchild Zayden Longoria; his niece Jessica Cortez; and his nephew Christopher Cortez.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lux Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1254 I-35BL, New Braunfels, TX 78130). A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (386 N Castell Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130). A burial was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266).
