He was predeceased by: his parents, Orrin Richard DeSalme and Francis Rogers DeSalme; his brother John DeSalme; his nieces, Michelle Crawford Hunt and Marti DeSalme; and his nephew John DeSalme, Jr. (Dick).

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Barnes; his daughter Rhonda; his great grandchild Violet; his daughter Diana; his son-in-law Kyle Dodson; his grandchildren, Rhonda Preiss, Caroline Cashion Michaelis, Cole Michaelis, Violet Michaelis, Courtney Cashion, Dawson Preiss and Taylor Preiss; his siblings, Tom DeSalme (Judy) and Estelle Crawford; and also Joyce Barnes DeSalme.
