It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael J Smetanka Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas, born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Smetanka and Veronica Smetanka; his wife Ginny; and his brothers, Thomas and Richard.

He is survived by: his daughter Michelle; his son-in-law Kent Harris of Shady Shores, Texas; his grandsons, Zachary Hunt Harris (Haley Walton Harris) of Dallas and Alexander Michael Harris (Rachel Hopkins Harris); his brother John Smetanka (Sandy Smetanka) of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; and his sister-in-law Joyce Smetanka of Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
