She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Cannaday and Marie Cannaday; her husband Jack Lewis Heard; her daughter Cathy Anne Heard Doster; and her brothers, Norman Wayne Cannaday, Walter Harmon Cannaday and Daniel Melvin Cannaday.

She is survived by: her family Roanoke; her daughter Caren Heard White (David); her grandchildren, Hugh Walter White, Bedford LeRoy Doster and Cannaday Lynne Doster; and her sisters, Gwynne Marie Cannaday Wales and Constance Lea Cannaday Rentz.
