It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Avolt Gatz (New Braunfels, Texas), who passed away on April 20, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Gatz (Fox); his parents, Avolt Gatz and Hannah Gatz; and his brother Robert Gatz (Jane James Gatz). He is survived by: his daughters, Jamie Gatz and Jodie Beck (Larry); his grandchildren, Jennifer Matteson, Traci Strawser, John Garan, Coleen Garan, Christian Beck and Jeffrey Beck; his great grandchildren, Collin, Astaria, Billy, James, Evan, Kayla and Peyton; and his brothers, William Gatz (Trudy Jerry Gatz) and Laurel. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
