He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Helmuth Albert "Slim" and Mildred "Mitzi" Schlameus; his wife Sandy Meyer of New Braunfels; his children, Sam Schlameus (Leslie Woods), Beth Schlameus (Dave Pearson) and Lauren Ramzinsky (Tommy Ramzinsky); his brother Lloyd Schlameus (Judith Seagroves); and his niece Amber Schlameus. He was also cherished by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
