She was predeceased by: her parents, George Akin and Ilah Fowler Akin (Fowler); her son Shepard Mayes; and her granddaughter Chassidy Jade. She is survived by: her husband Charles F. Mayes Sr.; her sister Beatrice Burns; her children, Charles Mayes Jr. and Anna; her children-in-law, Tefteller and Rebecca Mayes; her grandchildren, TJ (Anita Badgett), Kimberly Mayes, Tristen and Zach Burks; and her great grandchildren, Ty Badgett, Aubrie Badgett, Hayden Yoshida, Kooper Hilton, Kipton Burks, Kyle Burks, Dustin, Rynee Maroney, Jacob and Alyssa Maroney.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bates-Rolf Funeral Home (502 S McCoy Blvd, New Boston, TX 75570). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pulaski Cemetery at Cadence Bank in New Boston.
