It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Dean Whitten of New Boston, Texas, born in Sherman, Texas, who passed away on July 28, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Whitten of New Boston; her children, Catherine Yoder of Arkansas, James Loyd Magers Jr. of Arkansas and David (Denise Whitten); her foster daughter Pattie; her grandchildren, Jennifer Yoder, Kurt Burnside, Kristen Yoder, Frank Wilson, Nathan Yoder and Britney Bean Yoder; and her great grandchildren, Luke, Emma, Austin Burnside, Teagen and Hendryx Yoder. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Creek Baptist Church, Maud, Texas.
