He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gill and Jo Etta Linam (Shields); his siblings, William Linam, Richard Linam, Ruby Perry Thompson, Elizabeth Martin, Zoraida Shaddock, Virgina Lemley Moore and Louise Beavers; his sons, Charles Elmer Linam and Larry Clifton Linam; and his granddaughter Mary Regina Linam.

He is survived by: his wife Irene Linam (Freeman) of New Boston, Texas; his daughter-in-law Barbara Linam (Harold Walls) of Texarkana, Texas; and his grandchildren, Jeff Linam of Rio Vista and Jennifer Cortez of Linden, Texas. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
