He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Cooper and Berniece Harmon Cooper; and his daughter-in-law Joan Cooper. He is survived by: his former wife Sandra J. Coward; his son Johnnie Jr.; his wife Barbara Kramer Legendre; his daughters, Rhonda Ramirez (Daniel), Dianna Evans and Laurie Davis (Craig) of Lewisville; his grandchildren, Stephanie Knight, Jerome Gernand, Felicia, William Plows, Lexy Kubena (Shawn), Logan Hughes and River Hughes; his great grandchildren, Summer Piland, Autumn Moore, Calvin Knight-Moore, Taytum Plows, Adelae Butler and Gernand; his sons, Chris Legendre and Clinton Legendre; and his grandchildren, Chance, Trace, Cale, Tayah and Rylan Legendre. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg, Fort Bend County A&M Club, or the Houston Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
