He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Smith and Geneva Farnsworth (Farnsworth); his wife Mildred Smith; his son-in-law Harold Melton; and his grandsons, Travis Henrichsen and Zac Melton.
He is survived by: his siblings, Donald Smith (Dixie), Charles Smith (Kathy) and Angelina Van Ostrand (Ken); his children, Patricia Melton, Linda Oldag (Ben), Edward Smith (Georgia), Gloria Henrichson (Ricky), Anthony Smith (Sharon), Pamela Smith (Stan Broniak), Elaine Raesner and Mildred Hlavinka (Carlton); his grandchildren, Sam Melton, Holly Breakfield (Tom), Amy Sodolak (Owen), Nathan Henrichsen (Melissa), Ryan Henrichsen (April Teel), Russell Petee, Kevin Smith (Kayli), Brooke Johnston (Jesslie), Courtney Yetman (Marc), Bryan Hlavinka, Kyle Hlavinka (Jacklyn Hendrix) and Marissa "Roo" Hlavinka; his great grandchildren, Ollie Melton, Jameson Breakfield, Raiden Breakfield, Hunter Sodolak, Haley Sodolak, Lucas Henrichsen, Ryan Petee, Andrew Smith, Jase Johnston, Tate Johnston and Jaxson Yetman; and his close friend Ken Stavinoha.
