He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred William and Verna Mae; his wife Joyce Ann Thomas; his sons, Eddie Gayle Thomas and John Alfred Thomas; his grandchildren, Christopher D. Thomas and Maralana Thomas; and his brothers, John Kirby Thomas and Roy Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Joe Bill Thomas (JoAnn), Dr. Cynthia Parish (Dale) and Lisa Morphis (Mikel); and his sisters, Janet Dean (Wayne) and Byrde Sparks. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
